STRaWBERRY BaNaNa SMOOTHIE
I’m a smoothie girl. I could eat one everyday, especially when they are as good as this aloha Pineapple Smoothie! I still have yet to go to Hawaii but this aloha Pineapple Smoothie is what I imagine it will be like – refreshing, sweet, a little creamy, and beautiful. Like most smoothie recipes, this is so simple and has my two favorite ingredients I love in all smoothies – strawberries and bananas!!
This aloha Pineapple Smoothie has just 6 simple ingredients- pineapple, strawberries, banana, yogurt, ice, and juice. I have a basic formula for making smoothies. Every smoothie I make has a banana. This provides the main sweetness to the smoothie. The riper the banana, the sweeter, the better!
I also always add low-fat vanilla Greek yogurt. This makes it creamy but is way healthier than ice cream or frozen yogurt and adds a lot of protein. We keep a huge container of it in our fridge at all times for our smoothies.
You don’t always have to use ice in your smoothies but it helps thicken it if you’re using fresh fruit. If using frozen fruit you can decrease the ice or eliminate it all together.
Fresh Peach Margaritas
- 1 cup pineapple cubed
- 1 cup strawberries quartered
- 1 banana sliced
- 1 cup low-fat vanilla greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups ice
- 1/3 cup pineapple or apple juice
- Place all ingredients in the blender and puree until smooth.
